GAVIN AND DANIELLE'S BIG DAY.

Gavin and Danielle got wed and had a glorious sunny day for the event. The bride was beautiful.and the bridegroom was quite stunning in his cornish tartan. The Band played on the Patio at Fingle Glen where Gavin serenaded his new wife with a trombone solo "can`t take my eyes off of you". The band finished with Trelawney with several Cornish Guests singing along. Then everyone enjoyed a disco and buffet.

Twinning Visit
The Bands 5th visit to Wesseling was a busy but fun time for all those who went. Flying  from Birmingham to Cologne made the journey simple and we were met by our hosts from the Stadtgarde Wesseling. The next day saw us on the train in to Cologne for Sightseeing and shopping and then a rehearsal in the evening when the two bands got together to play some music and then drink a few beers. On Saturday we were the first Band on in what turned out to be a Rock Concert on the banks of the Rhine. on Sunday the Town festival continued with a stage set up in the square where both bands performed first on their own and then together. The town mayor presented everyone with a commemorative mug.
On Tuesday The band visited an open air museum and played a short  informal concert , before returning to Wesseling where our hosts put on a party, enjoyed by all, and then we returned home on Wednesday. Our German friends are planning to visit Okehampton In two years time.

On Sunday  8th July At the the celebration to  mark the centenary of the opening of Simmons Park in Okehampton, the Band played for the first time in the new Bandstand erected on the site of the old pavillion. Despite fears about the accoustics, the audience said the sound was good and could be heard all over the park. When the floor has been finished and the area around it has been completed the Band plan to perform in the park, weather permitting.  In the evening the Band provided the music for a songs of praise service in the park
